The plan not only involves “paying yourself first” but also involves tracking funds spent on a daily basis for the purpose of learning how to control money, and for the motivational inspiration to “see your money grow”. I can vouch for this idea as years ago I worked as a bank manager—back in the days when banks had only passbook savings. We’d stick those passbooks into the computer and watch balances get bigger and bigger with every deposit. It was thrilling!
According to Brett and Ethan, emotions do play a big part in whether or not one is successful with saving money. For this purpose, they talk openly to Tristi about her past, present, and future where money is concerned, and they help her to connect the dots to what got her into the situation she was in and to what’s now helping her restore and build her personal wealth. Following Tristi’s journey is a fun read, and it’s all done in conversational style, so the book is far from being one of those boring financial books one often sees, buys, and stuffs on the shelf, thinking, “One day, I’ll get to this”. Tristi’s book is small enough to fit into an evening bag, and it can even be read in a few hours.
There is something to be learned for everyone in Million Dollar Diva. Maybe it’s to pay yourself first, or maybe it’s to learn how to pay down your debts, but it could be found in learning how to invest and grow your money safely. Especially when you get to my favorite part about dream building on pages 31-35 because having dreams is what life’s journey is all about, and building a dream or two is what gives readers “staying power” to reach one’s goals.
